Fillings, crowns & repairs

Cracked a tooth? Lost a filling? We can help.

Fillings

When decay has got into a tooth, the damaged part is removed and the space is filled. Dr. Lee uses tooth-colored composite, which is bonded into place and shaped to match the tooth around it. Most fillings take one visit and the area is numbed first.

If you have old silver amalgam fillings that are still healthy and sealed, you don’t need to change them just because they are visible. Dentists generally replace them when they fail, leak or crack.

Crowns

A crown covers the whole tooth. This is typically indicated when too much of the tooth is gone for a filling to hold, when a tooth has cracked, or after a root canal has left the tooth brittle.

The tooth is shaped and the crown is custom made for you. Once fitted, a crown is cleaned and flossed like any other tooth.

Bridges

A bridge fills a gap where a tooth has been lost, anchoring to the teeth on either side. It's fixed in place rather than removable. Where the neighboring teeth are healthy and untouched, an implant is often the better long-term option because it doesn't involve cutting them down — Dr. Lee will discuss your options.

Repairs

Whether you have a chipped tooth, a missing filling, a crown that popped off, or just some worn and cracked edges, we can help. If you have a crown that’s come loose or fallen out, it can often be re-cemented — just bring it with you.

What it costs

Restorative care starts with an estimate of what your insurance is expected to cover, and what you’d expect to pay. Please keep in mind that your insurer makes the final determination once the claim is processed, and the amount may differ.

Get it looked at.

Small repairs stay small. Left alone, they rarely do.
